During the reporting period, the station employment unit engaged in the 
following initiatives: 
Provided training to management level personnel to ensure equal 
employment opportunity and prevent discrimination: 

During the reporting period management level personnel at the SEU received 
training as to methods of ensuring equal opportunity and preventing 
discrimination. This training consisted of ELT training modules in EEO, 
lawful hiring, lawful termination and sexual harassment. 

Internship program: 

Two students from the University of Louisville participated in the Station 
unit’s Internship Program. The objective of this program is to allow students 
the chance to work with a major market media group. Through this 
experience the student is able to learn more about the broadcasting industry 
and better evaluate if it is a career path they would choose. 

The Station unit submitted Internship criteria to IUS Southeast in an effort to 
encourage students to apply for Internship Program. 

Participation in job fairs: 

In January 2007 the Station unit engaged in Kentucky Broadcasters 
Association “Career Fair”. Participation included staffing a career table, 
giving out information about careers in broadcasting , soliciting applications 
and collecting resumes. 


NAB 2006 Career Fair (sponsored by National Association of Broadcasters), 
On April 26, 2006 the station was represented by Salem Communications 
Human Resources Manager at the 2006 NAB Career Fair, in Las Vegas, 
Nevada. Participation included staffing a career table, giving out information 
about careers in broadcasting, soliciting applications and collecting resumes. 

Indiana University Southeast Job Fair: Station unit participated on April 6 
2006 Job Fair. Fair attracted around 400 + students, alumni and community 
jobseekers who are looking for full-time, part-time, internship and career 
opportunities. Participation included staffing a career table, giving out 
information about careers in broadcasting, soliciting applications, and 
collecting resumes. 

Participation in events or programs sponsored by educational 
institutions: 

On February 21, 2007 the Station unit engaged in networking with students on 
Career Services Day at Bellarmine University. 

Employers Recruiting on Campus at IUS: On February 9, 2007 the Station 
unit HR Manager & station unit Event Manager attended and conducted 
presentation to groups of students interested in broadcasting as a career. 

Established a training program to enable station personnel to acquire 
skills that could qualify them for higher-level positions: 

Established a training program for part-time employee to acquire the skill to 
gain skills in reconciling traffic logs, merging music and traffic logs into Enco 
to enable the employee to acquire the skills needed to qualify for other 
positions. 

Establish hands on training program for employee to acquire skills in Event 
Marketing/Promotions Department to enable employee to assume higher – 
level positions. 

Participation in other activities that have been designed to further the 
dissemination of information about employment opportunities: 

On February 2, 2007 the SEU Participated in Junior Achievement’s 
Groundhog Job Shadow Day. Groundhog Job Shadow Day is designed to 
provide students an inside look at Kentuckiana businesses by allowing them to 
interact one-on-one and “shadow” a local leader. 

On April 6, 2006 the SEU participated in Urban League Expo Day, Account 
Executive opening was distributed by Urban League to qualified candidates.
