Kilpatrick was was ordered jailed on Thursday for violating travel restrictions imposed on him while he awaits trial on perjury and official misconduct charges. Kilpatrick, once seen as a rising star in the Democratic Party, traveled to neighboring Windsor, Canada, in July without informing authorities.
